Siel is an Asian CJazz (Crossover Jazz) & contemporary R&B/Soul Band , formed in Kuala Lumpur in 2015. Having played on many sessions and contributing to many artists producers Mohd Ritman (guitarist) and Cathy Suello (lead singer) decided to gather a group of the finest session musicians and form a band. Whether they're playing a festival, pub or concert hall, with a heavy insistent beat they agreed that they had something kinda special grooves rooted in soulful spirit and energy. They are very comfortable on stage and have great stage presence.

"Deep Affection" (Released: February 2016) Siel's debut album, recorded and produced in early March 2015, introduces their distinctive sound and musical identity.
"Moment of Movement" (Released: October 17, 2020) Produced by Mohd Ritman and co-produced by Cathy Suello and Zahid Ahmad, Siel's second album emphasizes contrasting compositions, with a focus on instrumentation. The album was recorded at Deriolama Studio in Kuala Lumpur, Drumworks Studio for Zahid Ahmad's drums, and Sentul Studio in Jakarta for Indro Hardjodikoro's bass.
Cathy with a degree in Physical Therapy,
coming from a musical family left the profession as music calling was too
strong. She has developed her singing talent by joining various bands and has
been performing for quite some time in different countries and cities abroad
such as Seychelles, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, India etc…2002-2010 she was
touring Asia with musicians from Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago,
Kenya, China. Through these experiences
she has exposed herself to different kinds of audiences and genres which has
greatly affected her musical career. Strong soulful vocal capacity which can handle a variety of songs and projects well on stage.
MOHAMAD RITMAN AHMAD
[MALE ] GUITAR / VOCALS
Listening to music, Modern guitarist, lyricist, arranger, and composer/producer Mohamad Ritman. Completely immersed and involved in every single detail of the music and the recording process, from the birth of an idea until its completion. He started playing the guitar since he was 10 and began to perform professionally at 16 years old. Ritman took an interest in music and formed his own band to develop his skills as a guitarist. As a professional guitarists he has already traveled to many different countries. During that time he also did a lot of arranging and producing. He has often incorporated elements of Contemporary Jazz, R&B and Funk music.
ROZARIO RASUL [MALE] PIANO / KEYBOARDIST
Also known as Rio Rasul has earned his Diploma in Jazz Piano Performance at The National Arts Academy, Certificate of Classical Piano Performance at Trinity College of Music UK. Grade 8 with Distinction for Practical Classical Piano at Associated Board Royal School of Music London and Grade 8 Theory in Associated Board Royal School of Music London. He is the Musical Director for the renowned Rock Legend Ramli Sarip for “Konsert Seniman 45 Tahun Istana Budya and Esplanade Singapore 2014, for Ramli Sarip, M. Nasir, Awie, Ella and Dato Hattan for Konsert Doa Langit dan Bumi 2015, for Jamal Abdillah 2015 Konsert Gemilang, Jamal Abdillah Live in Penang 2015, Ramli Sarip and M. Nasir Esplanade, Singapore 2016 and many more. As a Pianist and Keybordist for local Artists such as Siti Nurhaliza, Aisyah, Nora, Jaclyn Victor, Zainal Abidin, Searc, Wings, Ella, Lefthanded etc…Roza remains one of the most sought after Keyboardist/Pianist in Malaysia.
MOHAMED HANIFF MOHAMED [MALE] BASSIST
Anep as he is fondly called, recalled that his first instrument is the Harmonium. He started showing interest in playing the bass in 2010 and went on to study in Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan also known as ASWARA. One of his greatest influence is the late Jaco Patorius. After finishing his studies, he went on to explore more of his craft by joining various bands in Malaysias’ music scene and today is one of the most sought after bass player of his generation in KL.
LEWIS PRAGASAM
[MALE] DRUMMER / PERCUSSIONISTS
Lewis Pragasam was the leader and founder of Asiabeat, which was critical in bringing Asian style percussion and music (in addition to blending it with other world styles) to a larger, global audience. The group, which formed in 1979, began releasing albums in 1982 to great reception, and Pragasam was to take his concept and group all over the world, touring on just about every continent, and making waves at some of the planet's most renowned jazz and world music festivals. Eventually, Pragasam was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, and began teaching -- as Artist in Residence -- at East Carolina University. In addition, he also toured the world with his percussion group.
AZMI HAIRUDIN [MALE] ALTO SAXOPHONES
Azmi is quite simply one of the greatest Alto saxophone players in malaysia who ever lived, But his work on the saxophone was what made him a legend. Along with musicians like Idang Rasjidi, Boy Katindig, Andy Peterson and Lewis Pragasam, he pushed the genre of jazz into new stratospheres, His playing had a smooth and soft feel to it that blended R&B and jazz to create a refreshing sound.
